Copycat: Celebrity Updos

We love updos! Get celebrity style and try these fabulous hair trends at home. It's easy, just follow the steps provided, or alter them to add your own personal flair.

The "Poof"

1. In the front, part hair into thirds
2. Grab the center section and tease
3. Gently comb back the center section so it falls towards the back without loosing volume
4. Hairspray
5. Pull the two remaining sides (tightly) backwards and secure with either pins or a hair tie

The Braided Messy Bun

1. Part hair to one side (whichever you prefer)
2. In the direction with the parted hair, french braid along the hairline until at ear-level
3. Tease the remaining hair on top of the head, and gently comb backwards
4. Pull all hair into a ponytail at the nape of the neck
5. Grab sections of the pony and loop the pieces, securing them separately
6. Continue to loop pieces keeping a similar bun-like fashion, until all pieces are secure

Slicked Back Ponytail

1. Straighten hair. Suggestion: The Amika 100% Ceramic Styler
2. Tightly comb hair in one direction (if parted) or backwards
3. Secure with hair tie mid-to-high on head

Wavy Updo

1. Curl hair into medium-sized waves. Suggestions: Amika Clip-Free Tourmaline Curler
2. Part hair to one side (whichever you prefer)
3. (Optional) In the direction of the parted hair add clips, pins, or small hair accessories to hair (see top left photo)
4. Pull hair backwards and pin into a bun-like fashion at the nape of the neck
5. (Optional) Leave out some pieces, nearest to the face, from being pulled back with the rest of the hair (see top right photo)
